Toyota Prius
Count on us to slash fuel costs with the Toyota Prius
Want to change the world - or simply slash fuel costs? Start now. In the Australian Green Vehicle Guide, the New Toyota Prius achieved a fuel consumption of 3.9 litres / 100 km under the combined cycle*. That's up to 50% less consumption than a comparably-sized petrol family car. One tank of fuel could theoretically get you over an astonishing 1,100km. And with 73kW of power there’s no compromise on performance and drivability.
We're very proud that New Toyota Prius, with Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive technology, was the first and remains one of only a few vehicles to be awarded five stars in the Green Vehicle Guide. New Toyota Prius is also ranked number one in the Guide overall, and with a C02 emissions rating of 89g/km the New Toyota Prius is the only vehicle in Australia to dip below 100g/100km making the New Toyota Prius the Greenest vehicle on the market.
Call now to book a Test drive or drop in to our Melbourne based Heidelberg or Camberwell dealerships. We’ll show you all of the great features that New Toyota Prius has to offer and a level of customer service that is second to none. At Cannon Toyota our commitment to making the buying process easy and enjoyable is what we have built our business on. When we say we’ll treat you like No1. You can count on it.
The Australian Government's Green Vehicle Guide is an independent website that rates the environmental impact of all new vehicles sold in Australia. Importantly, the Green Vehicle Guide's ratings reflect the full implementation of appropriate Australian Design Rules. The Guide separately rates each vehicle for its greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution levels, as well as providing a simple five star rating system which indicates the vehicle's overall performance on both aspects.
* Fuel consumption and emissions tested to ADR81/01 under controlled factory conditions. Actual fuel consumption will vary depending on driving conditions/style, vehicle condition and options/accessories. |

2010 Toyota New Generation Prius Review

"More power, more efficiant and even greener, the third generation Prius has definitely got our attention".
Earlier this week, CarAdvice was given a first look and brief drive of the latest Prius, and its hard not to be impressed by the evolution of this Hybrid, especially on with 20 per cent more power and 10 per cent less fuel consumption.
At first glance, the new car looks much the same as the Prius it replaces. But as i do the usual walk around with the product planning guy, you realise that the new model is a vastly improved version of the Prius it will replace.
The really interesting thing about this new Hybrid Synergy Drive is the complete and utter elimination of belts and pullys under the bonnet. None, zilch, no belts to be seen in a thorough inspection of the engine bay.
And for those scaremongers who have said that the batteries in the Prius take up half the boot, you couldn't be more erong. It takes up less room than a full size Kookaburra bat. You dont need to worry about battery life either, there's a fleet of second generation Prius taxis operating in Cairns in far from ideal conditions, some of which have done over 600,000 kilometres and still going.
